Suspect Arrested after Farmington Stabbing

When police arrived, they found 33-year-old Kyle Martinez inside the apartment with multiple stab wounds. Medics transported Martinez to San Juan Regional Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.

Farmington police are investigating a stabbing that took place early this morning at a residence in West Farmington. Officers were dispatched around 6:00 to an apartment in the 700 block of West Animas for a fight. When police arrived, they found 33-year-old Kyle Martinez inside the apartment with multiple stab wounds. Medics transported Martinez to San Juan Regional Medical Center where he remains in critical condition. The suspect, Bryan Cortez, 37 of Farmington, was located on scene. He was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

This incident remains under investigation.
