Sex Offender Arrested Again

Gary Montoya is currently a registered sex offender after serving 19 years in prison for criminal sexual penetration of a minor. The victim in that case was also 9 years old.

From the San Juan Co. Sheriff's Office:

Detectives with the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the New Mexico ICAC (Internet Crimes against Children) Task force arrested a registered sex offender, identified as Gary Leon Montoya from Aztec, after he used text messaging to arrange to meet a 14-year-old female for the purpose of having sexual relations. Gary was arrested after he arrived at the location the meeting was set to occur.

Upon contact with Montoya he agreed to be interviewed. During the interview it was discovered there was a 9-year-old relative of Montoya that could be a potential victim of sexual abuse by him. The 9-year-old female was interviewed and disclosed several instances where Montoya touched her inappropriately.

Gary Montoya is currently a registered sex offender after serving 19 years in prison for criminal sexual penetration of a minor. The victim in that case was also 9 years old.

Gary is currently in custody at the San Juan County Adult Detention Center on a $100,000 cash only bond.
