Farmington police are searching for 18-year-old Alex Arnold of Farmington in relation to a stolen auto case.

On January 28, 2021, around 7:46 a.m. a woman reported her car had been stolen from her driveway on Hopi St. She had left the vehicle running to warm up for approximately four minutes, and when she returned it was gone. Officers scoured the area but were unable to locate it. Later that same day, around 1:05 p.m., a San Juan County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted the stolen vehicle while patrolling. The driver of the car, later identified as Arnold, attempted to evade the deputy. An FPD sergeant saw the vehicle a few minutes later running a red light and driving recklessly. The sergeant activated his emergency lights to attempt to pull the car over, when it parked in an apartment complex parking lot. Arnold and a female got out of the vehicle and began running in opposite directions. Officers weren’t able to locate Arnold in the area. Arnold has a warrant on charges of receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle, resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer, tampering with evidence, possession of burglary tools, and other charges.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Alex Arnold is encouraged to call non-emergency dispatch at 505-334-6622.
