Two FMS Staff Test Positive for COVID-19

One staff member works at Farmington High School. The district was notified of the positive test on October 24th. The other staff member works at Animas Elementary.

Two Farmington Municipal Schools employees have tested positive for Covid-19. One staff member works at Farmington High School. The district was notified of the positive test on October 24th. The other staff member works at Animas Elementary. The district was notified of the positive test on October 23rd. The areas in which these two employees performed duties have been vacated by all other staff members and no students have been in any affected rooms. Any students or staff in close contact have been notified.


Farmington Municipal Schools continues to follow screening protocols outlined by the New Mexico Department of Health, the New Mexico Public Education Department and the Center for Disease Control. This includes requiring masks, temperature screening and a short set of questions regarding travel and possible symptoms for anyone entering an FMS building.
