FMS Student tests Positive for COVID-19

Any student or employee known to have been in close contact with the student while on district property (Farmington High School) has been notified about their possible exposure. The district has also reported this positive case to the New Mexico Department of Health and New Mexico Department of Education, as required.

One Farmington Municipal Schools student has tested positive for Covid-19. The district was made aware of the positive test on October 21, 2020. The student had been on the campus of Farmington High School. Any student or employee known to have been in close contact with the student while on district property has been notified about their possible exposure. The district has also reported this positive case to the New Mexico
Department of Health and New Mexico Department of Education, as required.


Farmington Municipal Schools District continues to follow screening protocols outlined by the New Mexico Department of Health, the New Mexico Public Education Department and the Center for Disease Control. This includes wearing masks when required, temperature screening
and a short set of questions regarding travel and possible symptoms for anyone entering an FMS building or participating in activities or events.
